    TMX Elmo

Tickle Me Elmo. Yes, I remember a couple of years ago when it first appeard on the market, and thought to myself "whoa... that's CREAPY" (No harsh feelings towards people who love him, I just think that about any vibrating plush toy). And although it was the fad of the year, I also heard that some people were offended by him (something about having the innuendo that Elmo is taking drugs or whatever).

Anyway, the TMX Elmo. So it's a bigger version of the old one, fine enough. But I wasn't expecting this! (Please look at the video if you haven't seen how TMX Elmo moves) Okay I give it to them, this is an amazing piece of technology, how Elmo can rolled on the floor and then stands up again, and how well done his movements are made so they look quite believable (I can imaging myself acting the same if I ROTFLOL).
HOWEVER, it scars the bejeasus out of me!! (Plus, hearing the motor running dosn't make it any better) There is something about moving plush toys that me feel it's WRONG! I mean, plush toys are stuffed toys right? I have a couple of them, but none of them have any sort of gadgets inside them so they could move or talk. AND THAT'S HOW STUFFED TOYS SHOULD BE. They are cute and they are cuddly, and I want to love him and squeeze him and call him George.
As I said before, no offence to those people who adore TMX Elmo.

...I think the reason why I'm freaked out with a moving plush toy derives from the movie "Child's Play", Because I have no problem with toys that have metallic looks on the outside that move. But once the toy becomes cute, fluffy, or whatever, bells in my mind goes off saying "it's not suppose to be that way". I hate the concept of "Child's Play," and even to this day I refuse to watch it. I remember as a child (and owning many dolls) how I would imagine my toys coming to life and trying to kill me. Not a happy thought.

But the point is simple, I DON'T WANT THAT FOR MY CHRISTMAS PRESENT. I don't mind it in the store, or if someone that I know owns one. I just don't want it in my room where he could start laughing and roll on the floor, and then get up and tell me to do that again... and again... and again... and again... (endless continuation).

    Everyday Stuff

So, I have moved house and settling in. It's an old house with 4 girls and one bathroom. However, at the moment there is no bathroom problems, only that if someone is taking a shower, the other's can't have the washing machine running. Also the internet connection is much slower, but there is nothing that's killing me so overall I think it's good

    The Count of Monte Cristo

The reason I put The Count of Monte Cristo in the "Entertainment" category is because I'm not just talking about it in one medium. as far as I know, there is the original book, a Hollywood movie, a French series, and a Japanese animation. There are probably more then this, but I've just writen the different media that I know of, and have actually watched or read.
The reason I actually gotten interested in The Count of Monte Cristo was because it was mentioned in 金田一少年の事件簿 (Kindaichi Shounen no Jikenbo) aka The Casebook of Young Kindaichi or Young Kindaichi's Casebook. I know, it's a wierd conection, but this is actually the same way I got interested with The Phantom of The Opera, and Tarot Cards.

Anyway, The Count of Monte Cristo is all about revenge. But it's not about the revenge that uses physical force, but more of wits and cunning. There are a lot of movies, books, and games that are about revenge, but usually it involves one killing the other or at least severely hurting them. So, although "revenge" is not an uncommon, surely the method that is taken, is unique!
Now of all of the different mediums, besides the original book, the best one is probably the French series. I'm not saying that the other ones are bad (though the movie got bad reviews), storywise the series was the most satisfying. But, at the same time I say that the Japanese animation has the best Count of them all. Yes, I know he's just a drawing, but the animated Count is really cool! Sexy too, but I think that's because of the voice actor, great job mate!

One interest thing that I found out about though, is while this is a story that my best friend back in Japan likes, she didn't know about it untill I told her. So now I'm waiting for her to read the book, then I could talk about it with her!

    Everday Stuff

Well, I had lunch with a couple of friends, and then went shopping for some new jeans. I got 2 new pairs today ($100!) YEY! But while we were shopping, a small typhoon hit near our place and knocked don't a lot of trees. I'll try to put a picture of it up tommorow.

    Cirque Du Soleil

Cirque Du Soleil is translated into "the circus of the sun." It originally started off as a bunch of street performers, who called themselves a circus, although there were no animal acts in it. However, their popularity has been growing over the years, and the circus actors are skillful to the point that many of them participate in the Olympics.

Even though I'm a big fan of them, in actuality, I've only seen two of their shows live. (Or to be precise, watched two of their shows Alegria and Quidam, two times each. So four times altogether)
It's actually really hard to watch many of them, because most of them are showing in America, and I'm not in that country most of the time. Plus, I believe that three of the shows are stationed in Las Vegas, and one in Disney World. If I don't go to those places, I won't be able to see those shows anyway.
However, I do have most of their DVDs, and a new one Ka just came out, which I don't have yet. (But it's a documentary... I want the actual show!) I really would like to see this one, for my father went to see this one while he was in Vegas and he said it "had more story line to it" and that "it was kinda like The Matrix."
    INTERESTING

However, I'm a bit miffed, because Cirque Du Soleil are doing this special show called Delirium, which although I can get early tickets for, I won't be able to go watch it for it's going on in America. Even though, they have a show that is near where my family lives!!
Sigh... guess I'll have to settle with the DVDs I have eh?

    Everyday Stuff

Did the 2nd game for Exalted today. Although I got a really cool bow, I felt devistated for the GM had to give me some plot that could cause caos between my character and another character in the group...
    Yes, he is pure evil

    DVDs in Australia

Since I've came to Australia, my DVD collection has grown quite a lot. I mean, I don't have TONS yet, but staying in Australia wil definently make the numbers go up then staying in the same place.
I'll have to say, DVDs in Australia are CHEAP! Much cheaper then say, Japan. In Japan one DVD could coast you about 5,000 yen and a box set could go up to 20,000 yen! (Convert the amout into your currency, and you will see how ridiculous it is) In Australia, even new DVDs don't cost more than $30, and when they are on sale a DVD is $15 or less! For box sets, it's rare to find something that's more than $100.
    So why the difference?

Could it be that Japan has more features on it?
    I don't think so.
What about voice overs, and translations? Could that exlaine the extra expence?
DVDs made in Japan are as expencive, so it's unlikely.

I don't get it, electronics are much cheaper in Japan then most places in the world, but not DVDs (as the matter of fact, CDs aren't cheap either).
So, if somebody has a good explenation on why Japanese DVDs are expensive, PLEASE TELL ME!

    Everyday Stuff

Well, I didn't get time to upload my blog yeasterday (finally happened). Went to another friend's farewell party, and we had a barbecue (or a 'barbie' as you say down here). It was all fun, but my whole body stank of smoke, and I needed to wash my hair twice to get the smell out.
I think I also burnt my lower lip with the marshmallows.
